Mark Charters

Mark is an academic developer within the Learning and Teaching Team leading on GSA’s engagement with the Scottish enhancement themes, coordinating GSA’s academic development programme and supporting the delivery of the our Academic Development and Promotion of Teaching (ADAPT) CPD framework.

Mark has worked and volunteered in higher education since 2006, studying at the University of Stirling reading a BSc in Biology and following graduation took up a two year elected post as vice president for education. He has worked on a sector wide research project examining equality and diversity in the curriculum for the Higher Education Academy and Scottish Funding Council, and currently sits on the Student Participation in Quality Scotland HE Advisory board. He is an Enhancement Led Institutional Reviewer for the Quality Assurance Agency Scotland and is Communications Officer for the Scottish Higher Education Developers network.

Mark has particular expertise in student engagement, the student experience, quality enhancement and assurance, and learning and teaching.
