Arthi Manohar

Arthi is a Research Associate at the GSA's Innovation School. She is a design researcher, technologists and a qualified architect. Arthi is currently working on an Arts and Humanities Research Council project “Leapfrog”. Prior to joining The Glasgow School of Art in March 2015, Arthi worked as a User Experience Architect in London.

Arthi previously worked at the Mixed Reality Lab, Department of Computer Science based within the University of Nottingham. At MRL she was involved in an EPSRC project “Screens in The Wild” (SiTW). Her role particularly explored the relationship between social design and technology. Arthi’s Doctorate was a part of an EPSRC Digital Economy project “Tales of Things and Electronic Memories” (TOTeM). Her work investigates the digital impact of technologies on communities using Participatory Research Methods and Story Cultures.

She also holds a Masters degree in Architecture and Digital Media from the School of Architecture and Built Environment, University of Westminster, London. She is a qualified and experienced architect with a first degree in Architecture from National Institute of Technology, India. She has also practiced architecture in various leading design and consultancy firms in the UK and overseas. Her research interests include community cultures, Interaction design, qualitative methods, and incorporating digital media techniques in design practice.
