Widening Participation >

The Glasgow School of Art (GSA) is one of the UK's leading Higher Education Institutions for visual creative courses. Our main campus is based in Garnethill in Glasgow's City Centre and students come for all over the world to study with us.

Our Widening Participation team works with pupils from 90 target secondary schools and young people with experience of care.

We offer a year-round programme of activites to pupils in S4, S5 and S6. These activities help pupils to make informed decisions about future course choices, develop their practical and research skills and expand their knowledge of contemporary art, design and architecture.

We help young people understand what studying a visual creative course is like and enable them to build a diverse and interesting portfolio of work for application to visual creative courses in further or higher education.

The work we do is supported by the Scottish Funding Council who help us to deliver our programme of activity through the Access to Creative Education in Scotland (ACES) and FOCUS West projects.
