Staff Development >

Leaders in creative education since 1845, we recognise that our staff are our major asset. We are committed to developing our staff, ensuring they can contribute to the future success of the School, its students and realise their own personal career ambitions.

The School is committed to promoting a culture of continuous learning that encourages creativity, innovation and development and aims to assist all staff to achieve their full potential through personal and professional development opportunities.

Staff are encouraged to take responsibility for their own personal and professional development and should discuss particular training needs through Career Review and Development Process. A variety of development opportunities are available throughout the year. Further information on training events is available from hr@gsa.ac.uk

The ADAPT CPD Framework

One of the many opportunities available to staff for continual professional development is the Academic Development and Promotion of Teaching Continual Professional Development Framework. This framework has been developed by GSA for staff in roles which support student learning, offering them both developmental opportunities as well as recognition within the Higher Education sector for their knowledge, skills and experience in learning and teaching. The ADAPT Framework is due to be accredited by the Higher Education Academy in Spring 2014 and will be available for staff to apply to for the 2014/15 academic session.

More information about the framework can be found on the ADAPT VLE site here. (Staff login to VLE required to view)
