ResLife @ GSA

ResLife (Residence Life) is a team of student Resident Advisors and Wardens based at our accommodation who assist with the pastoral care of residents and aim to build a strong and inclusive community. The ResLife team at GSA Halls is focused on providing a good grounding for life at GSA, looking out for students’ wellbeing and run events that our residents can participate in.

Our ResLife team is made up 14 people, all of whom are currently studying at the GSA students themselves – excluding our Wardens. Our Residents' Assistants live on site at both Margaret Macdonald House and Blythswood House and are committed to ensuring that our halls are safe, secure and comfortable for all.

In addition to providing onsite support, our Residents' Assistants regularly organise events and activities for residents with some events hosted in collaboration with other groups at the School such as GSA Sustainability, The Art School and Student Support.

Recent events and activities have included:

  • Film screenings in Blythswood House’s cinema room;
  • Themed walking tours of Glasgow for new residents, including a vintage and thrift shop tour of the West End and a foot tour of the city;
  • Fitness sessions including yoga, palates and a running club;
  • Craft sessions and workshops using recycled materials in a dedicated making common room, complete with sewing machine;
  • Beer making and pickling workshops with GSA Sustainability.

If you have an idea for an event or activity you would like to see happen, you can get in touch with any member of the ResLife Team and they can work together with you to make it happen.
