Graduate Degree Show 2012

Levels 1 & 5, The Lighthouse, 11 Mitchell Lane, Glasgow G1 3NU

Join us for our inaugural Graduate Degree Show. Opening on Saturday 15 September 2012, the exhibition will run until Saturday 29th and include the annual MDes Textiles + Fashion promenades on the evening of Thursday 27 September.

The Graduate Degree Show will be staged over two floors of The Lighthouse building in central Glasgow. Work by artists following the MLitt programme in Fine Art Practice and final projects by Architects completing the MArch course will be installed in the 5th floor gallery.

Designers from the MDes programmes in Design Innovation, Interior Design, Fashion + Textiles, Communication Design, Sound for Moving Image, Animation, Medical Visualisation + Human Anatomy and Graphics/Illustration/Photography will show their projects in the 1st floor galleries along with artists from MRes Creative Practices.

The annual MDes Fashion + Textiles promenades will be staged in the 1st floor gallery at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm on Thursday 27 September (tickets available from the GSA Shop, Dalhousie Street).

For some years the GSA's celebrated MFA course has staged interim and final year shows. The move to feature work created by students following other postgraduate courses recognises the importance of offering a public showcase for the full range of graduate work undertaken at the GSA.

The GSA has one of the UK's largest postgraduate communities in the visual creative arts and architecture. In recent years, the graduate community has grown considerably, reflecting the GSA's international standing and research excellence, and the attractiveness of Glasgow as one of Europe creative capitals. It now comprises nearly 300 Doctoral and Masters students.

The Graduate Degree Show is sponsored by SPIE and Tennents. The Textiles + Fashion Promenade is supported by Buchanan Galleries.
