Painting Symposium with key note speakers Gavin Jantjes & Melissa Gordon

This one day event will focus on issues within contemporary painting, against the backdrop of 'A Picture Show', GoMA's current exhibition of paintings by Glasgow based artists. The event will feature two international key note speakers - artist Melissa Gordon, and Gavin Jantjes, artist and curator at Norway's National Museum. The day will end with a plenum discussion lead by a panel of artists and curators.

This is an all day event taking place at GoMA Gallery 1 in the morning, and in the Mackintosh lecture theatre at The Glasgow School of Art in the afternoon. GoMA will be open from 10am with the symposium starting at 10:30am. In the morning there will be a selection of speakers with a tour of the exhibition a Picture Show. Lunch will be at 12:30 and is not provided. The afternoon will start at 2pm in the Mackintosh lecture theatre, Glasgow School of Art and will run until around 5pm.

A full listings of the days events will sent to you the week of the event.
