Postgraduate Elective Information
Cross-School Postgraduate Electives are available to most students on postgraduate programmes across GSA and offer students the opportunity to explore areas of their creative practice through interdisciplinary learning. Information on the Postgraduate Electives can be found here.

Semester Dates
Full term dates for this session are available here.

Student Matriculation Cards
As a student at GSA, you will be provided with a Student Matriculation Card at your Registry induction session.  This card will be valid for the duration of your studies.  There is a charge for replacement cards.

An automated access system is used across the Campus.  All buildings can be accessed by using your Student Matriculation Card.  The card uses proximity technology so it just has to be held close to the reader on the door, not swiped.

  • Staff and students will be required to wear identification (staff or student card) in order to enhance both security and health and safety.  It is important that both staff and students have their cards with them at all times when on the GSA Campus.

Student Support
At The Glasgow School of Art, the Student Support and Development Services are available for all students to access.

The Services comprise of Student Welfare, Learning Support and Development and Student Counselling.  During Enrolment week new undergraduate students will be invited to attend a Student Support induction where you will discover what Student Support can offer you and how to get in touch. In the meantime, you may find it helpful to check out Learning Support’s comprehensive and detailed series of learning guides and tips at

At the GSA many students have disability related needs.  These range from a specific learning difference such as dyslexia, a social/communication impairment, a physical or sensory impairment, a long term medical condition or a mental health issue.  If you have disability related needs, it would be helpful if you could email as soon as possible, so that we can work with you to explore how your disability might impact on your learning and put in place the support that you need.
