New Students >

Enrolment takes place over the week Monday 10 September - Friday 14 September 2012.

Please attend for enrolment at the relevant session as detailed on the Enrolment Timetable.  You can view/print a copy of the Timetable here. You can also view the Academic Induction Timetable - this lets you know where and when to go for your first meeting. You can also download a copy of our 'Information for New Students' guide - see opposite, top right-hand-side link.

If for any reason you are unable to attend enrolment, it is essential that you contact Student Records via email, info@gsa.ac.uk, to let us know the reasons for this and to request late enrolment.

In order to fully enrol, all new students must provide a birth certificate/full passport or driving licence.

Future Enrolments
In subsequent years, all continuing students will enrol by post although Student Records is hoping to move to online enrolment.

Information detailing the enrolment process will be sent to you during the third term of the Academic Session and a postal enrolment pack will be sent to your home address in July.

Student Matriculation Cards
As part of your student life here at GSA, you will be provided with a Student Matriculation Card at your enrolment session which will last for the duration of your studies.

Security
An automated access system is used across the Campus. External doors for all buildings (except the Mackintosh Building) can be opened by using your Student Matriculation Card. The card uses proximity technology so it just has to be held close to the reader on the door, not swiped.

There is also a network of CCTV cameras and external intercoms outside all buildings that enable students, as well as visitors, to contact central security in the Mackintosh Building in case of problems.

Getting Your Matriculation Card
In order for us to have your card ready for you during enrolment we will need you to send us a passport size photograph.  Please follow the instructions provided in the 'Guidance for Passport Photos'

Please save your photograph as a JPEG and name it as per the following example:

SURNAME_Firstname_DATEOFBIRTH (in day/month/year format)

for exampleSMITH_Jane_060290

Please email your photograph as an attachment to images@gsa.ac.uk no later than Friday 24 August 2012.

 IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE

  • Student Matriculation Cards will be issued for a whole programme - not just one year!
  • Don't bend the cards - (they have a chip inside).
  • Don't write (or scratch) your PIN number on the card - in the event it is mislaid or stolen.
  • Lost cards must be reported to Mackintosh Building Security (ext 4471) immediately so that the access can be stopped.
  • There will be a charge of £20 to replace lost or abused cards.
  • Faulty cards will be replaced without charge.
