Important Meningitis Vaccine Information for New Students
Meningococcal infection can cause meningitis and septicaemia.New students who are enrolling on a programme of study at the Glasgow School of Art and who come from outside of Scotland, are recommended to have the Meningitis ACWY vaccine prior to coming to Scotland.  This vaccine protects against the most common strains of the disease.

Scottish students should have received the meningitis vaccine at High School and do not require a second meningitis vaccine when they start Higher Education.

If you are a new student who has not already recievd the vaccine and are unable to have the vaccine prior to coming to Scotland, it is important that you email welfare@gsa.ac.uk and request advice from GSA’s Student Welfare Advisers.

The following links takes you to more information about meningitis and the vaccine.
