Childcare >

The Glasgow School of Art has a Discretionary Childcare Fund that can assist Scottish-domiciled students with their formal/registered childcare costs.  The Discretionary Childcare Fund is allocated to individual institutions  by the Scottish Government via the Student Awards Agency for Scotland.

Who can apply?

Assistance from the Childcare Fund is discretionary, needs-based and limited. To be eligible for assistance from the Childcare Fund, students must:

  • meet the SAAS eligibility criteria for tuition fee support.
  • be attending an eligible full-time course of study, as defined by SAAS. This includes taught postgraduate courses that qualify for tuition fee loan funding from SAAS.
  • have applied for your full means-tested student loan (where appropriate).
  • have formal, registered childcare in Scotland. (Formal childcare includes registered child-minders, after-school clubs, day care and providers of preschool.)
