Alison Hay

Alison has been working in the Higher Education sector since 2007 and has experience in developing research funding applications, research ethics, intellectual property and contract negotiation. She is also trustee for a local charity which raises funds for special needs children.

Together with the Research Development Team, Alison signposts staff to research opportunities, helps to maximise research outputs, leads on the GSA ethics policy and procedures and assists in reporting requirements. Together with Julie Ramage, she runs the successful Research Bootcamps every summer which aims to help all GSA staff improve their research funding application success through two intensive days of training and critical thinking.

Prior to joining GSA, Alison has held similar posts at the University of Stirling and the University of St Andrews. Her background is in chemical biology where she completed her post doctoral research at Harvard University and her education at the University of Glasgow. She currently has three peer reviewed papers from her work.
