Alex Brown attained a Diploma in Architecture (B.Arch) in 1975 from the Canterbury School of Art & Architecture, Kent and a Graduate Diploma Urban Design in 1982 from the Oxford Brookes University.

He is an Interior Designer resident in Singapore and has been a lecturer in architecture and design for almost thirty years now.
He recently completed his book "Architecture as Complex System" and is researching on the topic "On the Origin of Styles. The application of evolutionary theory to the history of architecture and design".
