A researcher and designer with over 20 years industrial experience I have an ongoing interest in exploring design practice in diverse contexts. I have directed research assignments nationally and internationally revealing deep insights that reflect the real needs of people from the lived experience as a practitioner. My current academic research foregrounds questions around the application of Design Innovation approaches that transform individual and collective wellbeing aligned to visual methodologies and the role of the researcher in contributing to situated knowledges.

My practice provides an interdisciplinary link between women's narratives, loved objects and ideologies of identity towards the reinterpretation of ritual. Through the creative coalition of the researcher, research participants and personal artefacts my work encompasses text, objects and images that play off each other to craft a richer and deeper understanding of situated social and cultural design discourses.
