Programme Overview

Please note that our next programme of courses for Spring-Summer 2018 will be available from March 2018.

Starting Monday, 2 October 2017

This course will cover the techniques and approaches to Watercolour from a diverse and abstract approach while still covering the essentials needed to become proficient in the basics of the medium. Students will explore translucency and vibrancy whilst developing an understanding of colour theory and practice. A series of progressive exercises will teach students how to handle watercolour while working from 3D subject matter, sketches and photographs. Studying the work of other artists will help inform and enhance learning throughout the course programme. This course is suitable for beginners and students who wish to develop their existing skills.

Please note GSA will be closed on Monday 6 November and 12 February therefore two extra classes have been scheduled on Monday 4 December 2017 and 12 March 2018.

Term One: Monday 2 October to Friday 9 December 2017
Term Two: Monday 8 January to Friday 9 March 2018
