From Prop to Sculpture: The Role of the Object in Artists’ Moving Image Practices
Supervisor: Sarah Smith
My research project focuses on the physical space of the moving image, utilising artist made sculptural props and sculptural spaces to understand the role of the passive and active spectator. Using practice-led approaches to research I will consider how the sculptural object is intrinsic to the narrative of the work and activates the real space of the gallery and the virtual space on screen.
