Programme Overview

Please note that our next programme of courses for Spring-Summer 2018 will be available from March 2018.

This term one only course introduces participants to a range of handbuilding, moulding and finishing techniques suitable to make both complex functional ceramic pieces as well as sculptural objects. Participants will explore a range of techniques including pinch pots/coiling, slab building, working with plaster and press moulds as well a variety of glazing and finishes. By the end of the course students will have produced a number of pieces in clay and developed their creative and practical skills using this material.

Students will also be encouraged to develop their own self-directed projects throughout the course.

This course is suitable for beginners and those with previous experience.

Please note that GSA will be closed on Monday 6 November therefore an extra class has been scheduled on Monday 4 December.
