Programme Overview

This course is based at our Highlands and Islands Campus in Forres. The course is non-residential (acccommodation is not included in the cost).

The North of Scotland is famous for its wild landscape, and this is the perfect course for those who are inspired by the great outdoors. Working from direct observation on site, on the Altyre Estate and with imagination and sketch-book materials - this course aims to help students fulfil their ambitions to capture the beauty of nature. Over the week participants will be encouraged to explore a wide range of techniques and materials with the emphasis on acquiring new skills. So if you’ve ever fancied having a go at landscape painting, this is the course for you. There will be an element of demonstration in the teaching and location work will be weather permitting.

This course is open to beginners and experienced alike.
