Clearing 2017 >

Due to the studio-based nature of our programmes we have a maximum number of students we can admit each year.  Of these, the number of places available for students from Scotland and the EU, is set by the Scottish Funding Council.

A small number of places remain available in the programmes below for suitably qualified and eligible applicants, and the School is attempting to fill these places through Clearing, as detailed below.

Eligibility
Vacancies are listed below. RUK vacancies refers to vacancies open to students from England, Wales and Northern Ireland. International vacancies refers to vacancies open to international students from outside of the EU. Home Scotland/EU Vacancies refers to EU citizens resident in Scotland or other parts of the EEA, excluding the United Kingdom.

There are currently no vacancies available for 2017 entry. Applications for 2018 entry are accepted by UCAS from 6 September 2017, please see our programme pages for more details of the available programmes.

If You are Eligible For Clearing (eligibility conditions above)

Please submit a direct application by email to clearing@gsa.ac.uk 
Your application must include the following details:-

  • Confirmation of the programme you are applying to. Please insert this as the email subject/title. GSA Institution Code is G43.
  • Your contact details - full name, address, email and contact telephone no.

Please include with your email the following (scanned copies will be acceptable):- 

  • Copy of your academic qualifications. 
  • Copy of your English Language qualifications (only if English is not your first language, i.e. IELTS qualification)
  • Personal Statement (500 words max) outlining your reasons for wishing to study your chosen programme at The Glasgow School of Art.
  • 15 images of your own work which will form your portfolio submission. Images should be no larger than 200kb per file - sample portfolios (see admissions guide pdfs)


Following receipt of the above, your application will be passed to the relevant member of Academic Staff for a full assessment.  We will then confirm to you whether or not we are able to offer you a place to study this September 2017.
