Programme Overview

During this short workshop you will cover the basic techniques of piercing and soldering with base metals before moving onto silver. Throughout the weekend there will be group demonstrations as well as one to one tuition. On the second day you will primarily be working in silver and there will be an opportunity to apply technical skills learned during day one in a broader design sense to complete a silver faceted stone set ring with a rub over setting. Copper and silver can be purchased from the Department during the weekend and you will be advised after booking regarding the purchase of your stones. This course is suitable for beginners as well as those with existing knowledge of jewellery making skills.
