Discounted Fees
If you are a senior citizen in receipt of a state pension, unemployed or a full time FE or HE student, a discounted fee of 10% of the Course Fee is applicable. You will be required to email a scanned copy of your evidence to open-studio@gsa.ac.uk within 5 days of booking.

Programme Overview

This course introduces wood carving through the creation of a relief panel in Lime. Exploring how to cut and shape wood with consideration for the grain and natural properties of the timber. Participants will design a composition on paper and then make a quick sketch of your idea in clay to use for reference. Advice will be given on which tools are appropriate for different tasks and how to use and maintain them. You are encouraged to bring reference material, such as photographs or sketches; however, there will be visual information available to glean ideas from. This course is suitable for a wide range of students.
