Programme Overview

This course introduces wood turning, familiarising you with wood turning lathe, tools and techniques. During the course you will turn spindles and bowls from green timber which can be kept for future reference. We will consider the properties of timber and how you can design accordingly to achieve the best results. Advice on how to select & care for tools including sharpening will be given leaving students with the required skills for progression within the craft. The course is suitable for students with little or no previous experience of turning.
