Work for GSA Exhibitions >

Join our GSA Exhibitions invigilation team

We are looking for 2 enthusiastic, motivated and personable students who enjoy talking about exhibitions to join our team. You can be an undergraduate or postgraduate student from any discipline or year group. We will be shortlisting 6 - 10 people for interviews.

As an invigilator you will act as the first point of contact in the gallery and as an interpreter of the Reid Gallery's fine art, design, and architecture exhibitions. You will also be an ambassador for the GSA and would be expected to answer general questions about the school and the building.

In return you will join a friendly and energetic team, enjoy flexible working hours, meet enthusiastic visitors from all over the world and receive training, support and opportunities for professional development to complement your time studying at the GSA.

As well as being able to meet role requirements, this job in particular would suit pro-active individuals who wish to learn more about aspects of how a gallery works - those interested in curating or learning technical skills and those who wish to be involved in the gallery programme through events.

Zero hour contract: Above UK National Living Wage

Please note, the initial contract is from end of Sept 2017 to end of May 2018 (with hiatus of degree show) and then summer 2018 work available July-August 2018.

For students on-going in their studies at the end of this period, there will be a career review at the end of the first year, to reflect on what has been learnt and to consider extension of contract for 2018/19.

Application deadline 9am Friday 22nd September 2017
