Checklist for group leaders – pre-visit information for Glasgow School of Art Tours.

Please nominate a group leader to take charge and make the best of your visit before arriving.

Please provide them will this handy checklist in advance of the visit.

1. DIVIDE YOUR GROUP

Before arriving, group leaders should divide parties of 21 or more into smaller groups and allocate each group a timeslot to match your booking. The tickets collected by the group leader on arrival will be clearly marked with departure times for individual reference.

2. ARRIVE ON TIME

Please arrive at the visitor centre 10 minutes prior to tour departure time. If you are running late, the group leader should contact us on +44 (0)141 353 4526 as soon as possible. Whilst the start time of your private tour can be delayed by up to 20 minutes, the finish time cannot be altered, meaning the duration of the tour will be curtailed for your group. If you are more than 20 minutes late due to extraordinary circumstances, we may be able to transfer your booking to a later timeslot or date, subject to availability and at our discretion. Individual latecomers cannot be admitted to join the tour once commenced.

3. COLLECT YOUR TICKETS

The group leader should report to the ticket desk on arrival. All tickets are held under the booking name and issued on the day of the tour. The group leader will be given a ticket and sticker for each member of the group, and should distribute these to their group in good time for the tour(s) starting. Tickets will have departure times marked on them – group members can refer to these to know which tour they should join.

4. MEET YOUR TOUR GUIDE

Our ticketing desk staff will introduce the group leader to the Tour Guide(s). If you have opted within your booking to bring a translator, please introduce them to the Tour Guide before the tour begins. Before each tour, the Tour Guide will announce the timeslot about to begin and gather all ticket holders. Group members should listen out for the timeslot listed on their ticket, and join the appropriate group.

5. WAIT FOR YOUR TOUR TO START / FINISH

All tours start and finish in the visitor centre. While you’re here, we recommend putting aside at least an extra 30 minutes for visiting our world class exhibitions, fantastic visitor centre and the irresistible GSA Shop. We also have refreshments and rest room facilities on site. Our visitor centre, exhibitions, shop and visitor facilities are all located on the ground floor of the Reid building, and are wheelchair accessible.

6. BOOK IN ADVANCE FOR SPECIAL REQUIRMENTS

Lift access for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility taking part in the tour must be organised at the point of booking, otherwise regretfully we may not be able to accommodate these requirements.
