Mackintosh building tours last one hour and are conducted by our award-winning Tour Guides, all either students or recent graduates of The Glasgow School of Art.  All proceeds from our tours support the School.

To participate in a guided tour as a group we recommend making a private booking. This allows us to take care of any special needs or additional requirements you may have and also allows you to benefit from a personalised service and discounted price per head.  Please read the information below to learn about our rules and restrictions, and visit 'Make a Group Booking' for instructions on how to reserve your place.

GROUP SIZE

Our maximum capacity is 20 people per Mackintosh building tour. This limit ensures that your group has the best possible experience of the building and minimises disruption to teaching and learning.

If your group size exceeds 20 people, the party will need to be split into smaller, separategroups to visit the School.  We do our best to ensure separate groups start their tours at close intervals, usually witha 15 - 30 minute gap between departure times, subject to availability.

• Small group(up to 10 people)            £85        
• Large  group (up to 20 people)          £170      
• Primary / secondary school group   £85                                                                       (up to 19 under 18 year olds + 1 teacher / supervisor)                              

We allow 1 x translator to participate in the tour, free of charge, with foreign language groups, within the maximum capacity of 20 people.

TIMINGS AND AVAILABILITY

Private group tours can be arranged 7 days a week, normally departing between 10:45am and 3:45pm.

We will always do our best to match your requested timings as closely as possible. Availability is, however, subject to the academic schedule of the School, a functioning creative institution, and to the availability of our Tour Guides.  Timeslots are therefore limited so please be prepared that we may not always be able to accommodate groups at exactly the time requested.  Any flexibility you have with your timings is appreciated.

Once your booking is confirmed, we may be able to change the date or time of your tour, subject to availability and providing we have a minimum of 48 hours noticeof your request by telephone.

LANGUAGES

All tours are conducted in English.  We are happy to welcome a translator as part of your group.  Alternatively,with a minimum 48hrs notice we can provide printed translations to accompany your tour in:
