The Mackintosh Building tour explores the working
interiors of The Glasgow School of Art, the architectural
masterwork of the celebrated Scottish architect, artist and
designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
To visit the Glasgow School of Art as a School group and learn
about the School's world renowned architect we recommend making a
private group booking.
This allows us to take care of any special needs or additional
requirements you may have and also allows you to benefit from a
personalised service and discounted price per head. Please
read the information below to learn about our rules and
restrictions, and visit 'Make a Group Booking'
for instructions on how to reserve your place.
Tours last one hour and are conducted by our award-winning tour
guides who are all students or graduates of the Glasgow School of
Art. All proceeds from our tours support the School.
A fun
Mackintosh Building activity booklet with clipboards
and coloured pencils is provided free of charge to enhance the
tour, designed for key stage 2.
In addition, one complimentary copy of the 'Mack Pack' teachers'
resource pack is issued at the end of the tour to the lead teacher
to allow children to continue to explore Mackintosh and The Glasgow
School of Art from the classroom.
'Mack Packs' can also be purchased from the GSA Shop for
£15 each.
All our GSA Guides are fully checked by Disclosure Scotland.
GROUP SIZE
Our maximum capacity is 20 people per Mackintosh building tour.
This limit ensures that your group has the best possible experience
of the building and minimises disruption to teaching and
learning.
If your group size exceeds 20 people, the party will need to be
split into smaller, separategroups to visit the School. We do
our best to ensure separate groups start their tours at close
intervals, usually witha 15 - 30 minute gap between departure
times, subject to availability.
GROUP RATES
- Primary / secondary school group £85
(up to 19 under 18 year
olds + 1 teacher / supervisor)
Information on public tour pricing can be found here.
TIMINGS AND AVAILABILITY
Private group tours can be arranged 7 days a week, normally
departing between 10:45am and 3:45pm.
We will always do our best to match your requested timings as
closely as possible. Availability is, however, subject to the

institution, and to the availability of our Tour Guides.

not always be able to accommodate groups at exactly the time
requested. Any flexibility you have with your timings is
appreciated.
Once your booking is confirmed, we may be able to change the
date or time of your tour, subject to availability and providing we
have a minimum of 48 hours notice of your request by telephone.
