I really enjoy the visual tricks that Mackintosh uses throughout the building: supports that are actually decorative additions, making the windows smaller as you get to the top of the side stairwells and adding features that make someone feel like they're in the basement when they're really on the top floor. I almost can't believe the amount work and thought that went into tricking our sense of structure.
