I love the way the spaces of the Mackintosh building relate to the scale of your own body. The corridors and staircases are full of quirky nooks and cranies into which a person can press themselves to hide from the tutors! I love the juxtaposition of the monumental aspects of the architecture, such as the thick cement-covered walls of the East and West staircases, against the delicate embellishment that plays over the whole building. Mackintosh seems to have been very sensitive to how certain architectural spaces feel for the person inside them.
