A Student Guide to the City:

Explore GSA's Glasgow with our student guides

If you are visiting GSA as part of Introduction to Art School Days and/or Pre-Application Avice Sessions then you, your friends and family are invited to join GSA's student guides for a free and exclusive guide to our city.

From Blythswood House to the Trongate area, our team of student guides will illuminate the city's architectural legacy, internationally acclaimed contemporary arts scene and design impact of graduates from GSA. Explore the vibrant arts scene and fertile creative ground that makes this city unique, with current GSA students. Find site specific sculpture installed in the city and visit the cultural hotspots, favourite haunts, architecture, spaces and places frequented by Glasgow’s creative community.

We recommend booking to avoid disappointment as spaces are limited to 20 per tour. Book online until 1 day before the tour to ensure availability of your selected date and time slot, and receive instant email confirmation.

Tours last 2.15 minutes finishing with a half hour coffee break, for prospective students to speak to our student guides on all aspects of life in Glasgow and at GSA. Book a free place online here.

Pre-Application Advice Sessions

These might be for you if:
  • You know which programme you would like to apply to
  • You are a prospective undergraduate student
  • You are in the process of making an application to GSA or are about to make one.

This is an opportunity to pop in to GSA and visit a specific department as part of a small specialist group. Visit the department, ask more direct questions in person with other applicants and interact with staff and students. You will receive advice directly from that department on applying to them, submitting a portfolio, producing a personal statement, and attending an interview.

Pre-Application Advice Sessions are held in Autumn each year. Dates for 2019 will be available in due course.
