How do I book accommodation?
To book simply email or telephone:
MargaretMacdonaldHouse@gsa.ac.uk or 0141 331 1261. After we have
received your email or telephone enquiry we will make a provisional
booking for you. You should note that bookings can only be
confirmed when we receive full payment for rooms booked. If you
require to make a last minute booking you can do so by telephone
but again a booking will only be taken when details of credit or
debit card are given over.
What is your cancellation policy?
Advance bookings should be confirmed by full payment 2 weeks
before arrival. Bookings made within 2 weeks of arrival will only
be taken when receiving card payment with booking details. Full
refunds are given when bookings are cancelled more than 2 weeks
before arrival. There after: 7-13 days notice = 75% refund, 4-7
days notice = 50% refund, no notice/cancellation within 4 days or
no show = NO REFUND.
When can I arrive?
Open times for arrivals: Seven days per week - 2pm to 8pm. Later
arrivals by arrangement only.
How do I find the accommodation?
A map showing the GSA campus and directions is available on our
web site. Check-in and key collection for all guests is Residential
Accommodation Office, 89 Buccleuch Street, Glasgow, G3 6QT. (This
office is within Margaret Macdonald House.)
Do you have a car park?
Yes. Our halls car park is located at Margaret Macdonald House.
Guests on both accommodation sites are welcome to use this parking.
Entrance is by arrangement through Accommodation Office due to
electric gate. The entrance is via an underpass so there is a
height restriction of 7ft/2.14m.
Are you centrally located in the city?
Yes - our city centre location is ideal for getting around and
about Glasgow and the cities visitor attractions, public transport
and shopping.
Is the accommodation safe and secure?
Yes - each block, flat and bedroom doors have a key, which you
have the key to. We also have Campus Security that can be contacted
in an emergency.
What does the cost of the accommodation
include?
Ben linen and VAT
What is not provided that I should bring with
me?
Towels, radio/alarm clock and hairdryer for personal use, food
and drink for the start of your stay - there are many convenience
stores locally but these can prove expensive. Supermarkets may have
closed if you are arriving late or on a Sunday. Cupboards, fridges
and freezers are available in the kitchens for storage.
Is student accommodation a good idea for holiday
accommodation?
Student accommodation offers limited facilities in rooms and the
accommodation style reflects the first purpose for which it is
intended but the price reflects great value for money.
