Tony Coffield

Tony graduated with a BA(Hons) Interior Design from GSA in 1997. With a grant from the European Social fund Tony developed a vocational design course for disadvantaged people with Kibble Education and care centre.

Tony joined Glasgow based multi disciplinary agency Curious Oranj as a junior design in 1998 and 8 years later became Design Director with a roving brief over interiors, graphic communication, web and architecture. Clients included Gordon Ramsay, The SFA, Nick Nairn, and Glasgow City Council.

Tony left Curious Oranj in 2008 to set up his own company make. (makefullstop). Current projects include a holiday retreat in the Scottish Highlands and a University Library in Luxembourg.

Currently, Tony is undertaking a self build project which has been the toughest test so far in his professional career, and he divides his time between project managing, labouring, working for clients and teaching at the GSA.

Tony’s passion is making things (mainly from wood) and through teaching he encourages students to discover new territory through exploring themes, creating versions and by ‘making’.
