Fee-waivers
January 2023 Start for Full Time or Part Time Study
The Digital Health and Care Institute (DHI) have a number of fee-waivers available for Master of Research (M.Res) candidates proposing to undertake research projects focused on digital health and care, which align with one of the DHI’s strategic themes below:
- Citizen empowerment and long-term condition management;
- Healthy ageing
- Digital solutions in supporting preventative and early intervention approaches in health and social care
- Digital solutions as an enabler in shifting care from institutional settings into home and/or community settings e.g., Hospital at home
- Digital solutions in supporting Population/Public Health and/or Emergency Planning/Prevention, Early Intervention (ref Covid19 or similar epidemic/pandemic threats)
- Service issues OR service redesign in health and care: demand and capacity management (Topics 3 and 6 should focus on one of the following non-communicable diseases - diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, chronic respiratory diseases, mental health, cancer)
- Digital skills and workforce development in health and social care
- Solution to barriers for scaling Digital health and care solution (e.g., information governance, procurement and standards etc...)
How to apply:
- Candidates should apply to the GSA, Innovation School M.Res. programme in Design for Health & Care:
- For M.Res. scholarship candidates will also be required to submit a research plan, *max* 2000 words (less is fine – DHI need to ascertain the research plan to ensure that the topic relates to digital health and care, and that it falls within the six strategic themes) for funding to be approved by DHI - there is no required format for this.
The following eligibility criteria apply:
- The scholarships are available to British nationals domiciled in Scotland for at least the last three years as well as for EU students. Nationality is confirmed by the passport held by the student. Some students may be required to provide proof of residency in Scotland.
- The M.Res. Programme can be undertaken full-time or part-time.
For a January 2023 start, the deadline for applications is 31st August 2022 – please submit the GSA Research Proposal and full Application along with the DHI Research Plan for funding to Registry registry@gsa.ac.uk copied to the Programme Leader Professor Lynn-Sayers McHattie: l.mchattie@gsa.ac.uk
