Ross Hogg is an award-winning animation filmmaker based in Edinburgh. Graduating from The Glasgow School of Art in 2013, Ross creates dexterous, hand-crafted animation using a variety of materials, celebrating the vibrancy and physicality of the medium.

Ross’ films have been successful on the international circuit gaining festivals wins, recognition and attention. He has picked up BAFTA Scotland nominations in the last three consecutive years whilst also receiving awards such as the BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award, the Celtic Media Festival Award, the award for Best Scottish Short Film at Glasgow Short Film Festival, and the Audience Award at Hamburg International Short Film Festival.

Ross is currently working on a new animated short film (supported by the BFI) called Life Cycles, to be released by the end of the year.

In this screening, Ross will be showing a selection of his work to date with Marc Baines (his former tutor at GSA) introducing and hosting the discussion.
