Architects in the Making - The Glasgow School of Art Travelling Workshop
A 2 day practical workshop aimed at people interested in studying architecture at university. The workshop is run by tutors from The Glasgow School of Art’s Mackintosh School of Architecture and will involve developing skills in model making, drawing, analysis, concept creation, presentation, peer assessment and reflection.
This workshop is designed for anyone who is interested in studying architecture at university. Over 2 days you will be asked to look at things, make things, draw things, design things, present things and discuss things.
It will be a busy 2 days and you will be asked to think about how you see and use spaces. It will be both difficult and rewarding.
At the end of the 2 day workshop you will have a collection of pieces, 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional which can be used in your portfolio for applying to university. You will also have experienced what it is like to be given an architectural brief, analyse a space, develop a proposal and present an outcome.
If you have already applied to study Architecture at The Glasgow School of Art we will be offering you the opportunity to have your interview in person at the end of the workshop.
We hope that you enjoy the 2 days and that this becomes a useful step in your journey to becoming an architect.
