Brendan is often described as 'the world's only Thrill Engineer'. He originally studied Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College and worked for British Aerospace Military Aircraft, before pursuing Design at the Royal College of Art. Brendan now runs his own design practice specialising in the creation of tailored emotional experience, with clients such as Durex, Nissan, and Merlin Entertainment. He is also Professor of Creative Industries at Middlesex University, Principal Research Fellow in Computer Science at the University of Nottingham, associate lecturer in Industrial Design at Central Saint Martins, and a regular broadcaster.

Brendan's unique brand of live entertainment, interactive contraption building, and scientific experimentation has gained him international notoriety in both the arts and sciences. His multi-faceted Thrill Laboratory performances have provided popular entertainment for audiences from the Science Museum to Alton Towers, featured at Tate Modern and MoMA (New York), whilst also stimulating academic debate; although you're most likely to find him in his East End workshop drilling big holes in things he really shouldn't.

This talk is presented by MDes Design Innovation and the Institute of Design Innovation, and supported by A Feral Studio.

The event is open to the public and free to attend - reserve a free place on Eventbrite here.

Doors 7pm for a 7:30pm start.
