Event info

BUS PASS is a durational performance and community-based project by artist Kate Clayton. During the week of 15-21 September, Kate will use her bus pass to ride her regular routes the 41 and 60 into and out of Glasgow city from her home in Dennistoun. Through conversations and exchanges with other over-sixty passengers, the artist will address the experience of ageing in an urban context.

While on the buses, Kate will wear a custom-designed boiler suit with inbuilt storage for her bus pass, smartphone, reusable coffee cup, and limited edition BUS PASS badges. She will break her journeys at local green spaces and encourage others to join her in practicing self care through gentle exercise. By making herself hyper-visible and approachable, Kate hopes to give a greater voice to her age group.
