The Glasgow School of Art

Colin Harris received his education at the Mackintosh School of Architecture. He joined the practice after it was established in the late nineties having worked for Zaha Hadid in London and Marchese Partners in Sydney and became the third director in 2005. Since then he has worked on projects such as the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop which received the Civic Trust Award in 2016.

The office works on projects at a variety of scales, from small private allotments to large cultural centres, yet they pride themselves on a consistent and rigorous design approach for each scheme, led first hand by the directors. Their emphasis is on ensuring that the project follows a strong design agenda throughout the process, with a particular eye for the development of details, materiality, construction and the making of space.

The office has been shortlisted in the past both for the RIBA Stirling Prize in 2003 and the Mies Van der Rohe Award in 2004.
