Open Evening Programme

5.30pm: Open

6pm: Daniel Livingstone, Programme Leader at the DDS, gives a whirlwind introduction to our research and the Masters courses on offer here in the DDS.

6.15pm: Matthieu Poyade, Research Fellow in Virtual Reality. Learn about our involvement in the latest cutting edge developments in Medical Visualisation, haptics and immersive experience.

6.30pm: From rock-climbing to rock-art. Find out about how communities all across Scotland engaged with 3D recording, modelling and printing their heritage over the summer of 2014, with Mhairi Maxwell, Research Assistant in Heritage Visualisation.

6.45-7.30pm: Split into groups to discuss the degree programmes and for tours and demonstrations of the facilities. Be surrounded in sound in the ambisonic SoundLab, have a go at our haptic-arm, put on goggles to immerse yourself in a virtual world, listen to cinematic sound in our dubbing suites. Informally chat to staff about their experience and view recent student work.

7.30pm: End (but we hope to see you again!)
