Dirk (“Dick”) van Gameren is a partner at the architectural firm Mecanoo (Delft), one of the Netherlands’ best known practices, and a Professor of Architecture at the Technische Universiteit Delft.

 He graduated from TU Delft in 1988 and subsequently established his own architectural firm. His specialization lies on housing. This includes the transformation of existing buildings, urban densification and small-scale inner-city ‘infill architecture’. At the same time he is involved in the development of new approaches to affordable housing as well as in questions of urbanization in both the Europe and the Global South.
