We are proud to offer our award-winning student-led guided tours for free during Doors Open Days on the 21st and 22nd of September 2013!
Bookings for Doors Open Days open on Tuesday 20th August
Tours run 7 days a week all year round! Please see our main timetables and tickets information to book a tour outwith Door Open Days.
Doors Open Day tours of the interiors of the Mackintosh building at The Glasgow School of Art will run every half hour from 9.30am - 6pm and last 45 minutes each.
Please note that as we are a working institution the interiors are only accessible as part of a guided tour. As spaces are limited and we are an extremely popular attraction during Doors Open Days, we recommend making a reservation to avoid disappointment!
The Mackintosh Interpretation Space will be open to explore, and highlights of our Mackintosh furniture collection will be available to view in the Furniture Gallery from 9am - 7pm.
The Mackintosh Museum, originally designed to house the schools collections and plastercasts, plays host to exhibitions with free entry throughout the year. During Doors Open Days the exhibition A conspiracy of detail will be running with extended hours from 9.30am - 6pm.
As part of Doors Open Day's programme of walks, our student guides will be conducting our two City Walking Tours for free on Thursday 19th and Friday the 20th of September!
Explore the architectural acheivements of Mackintosh and his contemporaries and explore decorative details in the city through the 'Glasgow Style' City Walking Tour or view Glasgow's contemporary architecture, arts scene and creative output through the 'Glasgow Miracle' City Walking Tour.
