Hear how The Glasgow School of Art has responded to the effect of the fire in the Mackintosh Building which took place in May 2014, and how it is carrying out a major restoration in a manner that seeks to harness the creative energy of the institution itself.

Join Liz Davidson, Senior Restoration Project Manager and David Page, Head of Architecture, PagePark Architects as they explain the resotration plan, the richness of the collaboration with the in-house research team and archives to inform this process, and

  • the close working relationship with the team that has been assembled to deliver not only the physical restoration of the building but also the legacy of craft skills and new product design through a focus on ‘Innovation through Tradition’,
  • the opportunities that the tragedy of the fire has provided to re-use the building bringing new educational and cultural meaning for Glasgow.
