We invite you to join Christina McBride, Lecturer in Fine Art Photography at The Glasgow School of Art and Dr Anthony Schrag, Senior Lecturer in Arts Management and Cultural Policy at Queen Margaret University as they discuss choosing a masters degree in Art.
The session will include Christina and Anthony discussing their own choices and outcomes, the different options available, plus recorded interviews with current students and alumni discussing what they considered and the impact the choices made on their artistic career. We believe that whilst the outcomes of the masters degree are important, the process involved in reaching the outcome can sometimes be as important a consideration. Being in the right place and enjoying what you do can sometimes be a better way to decide on a programme of study than fixating on a potential future that may never exist.
In the conversation we will also discuss the way students' aspirations and intentions change in the course of a degree, and how the self-reflection and discovery helps you to move closer to the art practice you would like.
The conversation will last approximately 40 minutes, and there will then be a question and answer session.
