Paisley Museum, 11 July - 5 October
Preview Thursday 10 July 7 - 9pm
In 1989 a significant event occurred at Paisley Museum; one of the best kept secrets of Scottish contemporary art. A group of 17 emerging artists from The Glasgow School of Art staged an exhibition called "Information". The majority of these artists were to become key practitioners of their art and several were to win or be short-listed for the Turner prize. They included Dave Allen, Claire Barclay, Martin Boyce, Roddy Buchanan, Nathan Coley, Jackie Donachie, Douglas Gordon, Michael McDonough, Craig Richardson, Ross Sinclair and Karen Vaughan.
In the spirit of the original "Information" exhibition, current GSA MLitt in Fine Art Practice students have been invited to respond to the theme of "Information" within the particular context of Paisley Museum.
The exhibition is part of GENERATION, a nationwide programme showcasing some of the best and most significant artists to have emerged from Scotland over the last 25 years.
