Invisible Studio is an innovative and award winning architecture practice founded by Piers Taylor. Taylor was the inaugural Studio Master at the Architectural Association for the Design & Make Programme at Hooke Park a former Design Fellow at the University of Cambridge and the convenor of the annual Studio in the Woods. Taylor lives and works in a 100 acre woodland that is managed by his practice as a place for ongoing research to inform the buildings they design and make. Invisible Studio designs and constructs in a collaborative fashion, often with ‘unskilled’ labour and using materials grown or sources from the site as an antidote to the flat screen based, studio based autonomous architecture culture that prevails. He is less interested in design than trying not to design, and allow the physical and social circumstances of any context to inform each project.
