Jan Peter Wingender is the principal of Office Winhov, Amsterdam. He studied architecture at Eindhoven University of Technology and the Berlage Institute in Amsterdam.
His projects focus on urban housing developments, mixed-use ensembles and civic programs. In addition to his involvement with the office projects, Jan Peter regularly addresses lectures, writes about architecture and is a member of various advisory and editorial committees and juries. He has been a guest lecturer and critic at architecture schools in the Netherlands and abroad.
From 2003 to 2007 he was head of the architecture course of study at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture. Jan Peter has been a lecturer at the Amsterdam University of the Arts since 2010 and published in 2016 the book ‘Brick, An Exacting Material’ as result of his research project.
Among his recent projects are the student residences at TU Eindhoven (2013-16), the Zölly residential tower in Zurich (2011-14), and the renovation and modification of the City Archive in Delft (2014) and the Amstel Station in Amsterdam (2016).
