Lunchtime Talk:
GSA and the First World War - Fundraising on the Home Front
29 Nov, 12:30-1pm, Ground Floor Corridor
Fiona Hall

GSA’s Archives and Collections Project Assistant Fiona Hall will talk about the impact of the First World War on the School and the activities that took place to raise money for various war charities. Join us to find out more about our Home Front Memorial Project and to learn about several fundraising events held by the School. These included the Belgium Tryst which installed a Chamber of Horrors and a palmist into the Mackintosh Building; and the Exhibition on Ancient and Modern Needlecraft which displayed examples of needlework gathered from across the UK.

This is part of a series of talks during the exhibition Eugène Bourdon: From the Classroom to the Battlefield.
