Lunchtime talk: Chris Leslie and David Buri
'The high rise went up and the high rise came down'
Thurs 29 Sept 12.30, Reid Ground Floor Corridor
Just as Chris Leslie is the photographer most associated with documentation of the massive changes in Glaswegian housing and urban cityscape in the post-millenium era – so George Oliver spent decades recording in photography the changes made to the city in the 1960-90s. What do these two photographers, and their work, have in common? And what sets them apart? And what do we learn about the recent history of Glasgow in such a comparison?
A Lunchtime talk from Chris Leslie and David Buri at ‘Disappearing Glasgow’, the exhibition of Chris Leslie’s photography at the Reid Corridor Gallery at The Glasgow School of Art. The talk will be introduced by Prof Johnny Rodger, editor of the book 'Disappearing Glasgow'.
