Naked Reality is the cinema of the future, a new science fiction film from renowned Cameroonian director Jean-Pierre Bekolo. Set 150 years from now in a time when African cities have grown into one big metropolis, it follows the story of Wanita who leaves home one morning, not knowing that her first prayer to her ancestors has started a journey to another dimension. But her journey is fraught and blinded by her other self - the desire to be someone else. She is the first of a new generation, the only ones with the DNA to break free from the shackles of the immortals. Bekolo is not new to the science fiction genre, he directed Les Saignantes which screened at Africa in Motion previously. Experimental in style and narrative Naked Reality leaves the audience with a blank canvas to interpret and create the story filling in the missing elements.

This screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Jean-Pierre Bekolo and a wine reception.

This event is in partnership with Africa in Motion Film Festival (28 Oct – 6 Nov). To find out more visit: www.africa-in-motion.org.uk
