The European League of Institutes of the Arts (ELIA) is pleased to announce that The Glasgow School of Art and The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland are co-hosting the 6th ELIA NEU/NOW Festival in City of Glasgow. Previous editions of the Festival were held in Vilnius, Tallinn, Nantes, Porto and Amsterdam. In a number of these cities, the Festival formed part of the European Capital of Culture programme.
The ELIA NEU/NOW Festival is an exciting and innovative international platform that showcases talented graduating and recently graduated artists emerging from Higher Arts Education Institutions and Universities across Europe and beyond. The Festival provides a platform for emerging artists working in the Visual Arts, Theatre & Dance, Music & Sound, Film & Animation, and Design to present their work to an international audience.
The ELIA NEU/NOW Festival is:
- an online platform and live event that promotes artistic excellence through presenting cutting edge work by an emergent generation of artists graduating from art schools and universities across Europe and beyond;
- an opportunity for emerging international artists to show their work, engage with each other, form new creative partnerships and bring themselves to the attention of wider audiences;
- a forum where artists, producers, curators, cultural operators, and policy makers can discuss future developments in the arts and share views on the cultural role of higher arts education institutions.
