New Dreams: Satellites Exhibitions
An exhibition of objects and images produced by design students at The Glasgow School of Art as an interpretative response to some of the core themes within A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The show is in two parts, and is co-curated by a student-led team from the GSA and the University of Glasgow.
Part 1
Location: Grace & Clark Fyfe Gallery, Bourdon Building, GSA
Preview: Monday 18 April 5.30pm – 7.30pm (invitation only)
Exhibition runs until Sunday 24 April, and is open to staff and students of the GSA.
Part 2
Location: Kelvin Gallery, University of Glasgow
Preview: Friday 22 April 4.45pm – 6.00pm
Exhibition opening and drinks reception in collaboration with the Shakespeare and Scotland Symposium, University of Glasgow. Free Eventbrite registration.
Exhibition open to the public Saturday 23 April 11.00am-4.00pm and Sunday 24 April 11.00am – 1.00pm
The exhibitions coincide with the performance of New Dream: Dream On! at the University of Glasgow Bute Hall on Saturday 23 April 2016. Students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, The Glasgow School of Art and the University of Glasgow have joined forces with the musicians of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra to create the performance, inspired by A Midsummer Night's Dream, in celebration of Shakespeare 400.
